What is a Toy Library? 


North East Action for Children Parents and Inclusion (NAPI) has a well established Toy Library service which has been running for many years. The various toy library services are open to:


  • Parent and Toddler groups (Donations are welcome)
  • Registered Childminders
  • Private Day Nurseries
  • Playgroups
  • Parents
  • Additional Needs Children
  • Schools
  • Professionals

Additional Needs Toy Library


What this service will offer!


  • A dedicated service for parents, carers, childminders and other settings who care for children with special and additional needs.


  • A toy library that is set up to give children and young people with special and additional needs an opportunity to loan suitable, quality toys and specialist equipment.


  • A service which removes the barriers of cost and access to specialist equipment.


  • A dedicated person to promote the development of play for all children.


  • Support for the development of individual resilience by developing confidence, supporting problem solving and developing a sense of belonging which reduces the feeling of loneliness and isolation.

What is a The Book A Toy @ Newcastle City Libraries  


North East Action for Children Parents and Inclusion (NAPI) has a well established Toy Library service which has been running for many years.

We partnered up with Newcastle City Libraries to create The Book A Toy a toy loan service for parent, carers and their children to loan directly from the library.
